You Won't Lose Weight, Until You Begin To Exercise Your Mind
If like many other people you have been trying to lose weight, then you may have come across some statement about keeping a positive mental attitude. It's an easy statement to make but what does this really mean?
Frankly it for many people, it is useless for real weight loss. If you have always failed at losing weight than you get someone saying that you need to be more positive about weight loss, it is not really going to be helpful. It will probably irritate you.
Let me give you something that people probably haven't told you. Yes you will lose weight if you have a positive attitude, but the problem is, where do you find this positive attitude? You are not really going to get different results by trying to force yourself to be more positive. Although a positive attitude will help in some small way, but it is not the key to successful weight loss. Whether you succeed or fail, will depend on your beliefs.
if you believe that you are overweight and that you are not going to succeed in losing weight, then your mind is going to follow what you believe. Your beliefs are what dictates your actions, beliefs do not have to be based on any real facts but they will steer your life regardless. When you start to exercise or diet, you are being pulled down two different routes.
Physically you are trying to do one thing, while mentally you are thinking the opposite. Only when your body and mind agree to go in the same direction, will real weight loss be achieved. This affects your entire life and is not just about weight loss. A positive attitude can only surface from positive beliefs, if you have negative beliefs about something, it is impossible to maintain a positive attitude
This is why you have to exercise your brain before your body, if you want to lose weight. Your body will fall into line with your deeper beliefs. What will make this situation change? You can carry on doing the same things over and over again, trying the next big thing, but you will have to ask yourself, when was the last time that the "next big thing" worked for you? How many times can you keep failing, until you give up even trying?
Your beliefs need to change if you want things to be different. Forget about weight loss, diets ,or exercise. The first step is to change your thinking about losing weight. Only then will you be able to successfully lose weight.
